There are several ways to use more than one printer with SunEase, for example if you have both a Citizen Receipt Printer and a Report Printer.

One way is to use an A/B switch box Then you just turn the switch to A or B before you print a report or a receipt.

Another method is to add a second parallel (printer) port to the computer. Then you just tell SunEase's printer setup to use the second port for one of the printers.

General Printing Issues

Nothing prints from SunEase, Windows programs print OK

Check the printers setup to look for any options about printing from DOS programs. If you have a Windows only printer, try the following work around.

  • Select a report in SunEase
  • For Report Output, select View On Screen
  • Use Alt+Tab to switch to Windows
  • Use Windows Explorer or File Manager to select the corresponding text file in the SunEase Print sub-directory.
  • Select File then Print
  • Use Alt+Tab to switch back to SunEase

Print Screen key does not work

This is usually seen when running under Windows where this key does not work (as it does under DOS). It may also occur if the printer is off-line, out of paper, or turned off. Try using the ALT+P keys instead of the Print Screen key. Another thing to try is to shut the printer off then on again.

  Screen Characters Print Incorrectly

This problem may occur after a print screen. This program does not use any special printer codes (except when printing receipts to a certain receipt printers) so the problem is with the printer and is typically fixed by changing the printer mode.

This is done by changing the printer's DIP switch settings, which are used to set the printer defaults. Refer to the printer manual to find out how to set the printer to Graphics or IBM mode. If the DIP switches are changed the printer must be turned off then on for the changes to take effect.

Citizen 35xx Receipt Printer flashes and won't print receipts

The SEL/LF light flashes on and off and a printer error message appears when trying to print a receipt.

The problem is the printer is or thinks it is out of paper. This printer has a button on the bottom where the paper roll sits. When the paper is low the button will pop out and prevent the printer from printing receipts.
