Back to index

SunEase 2000 can support up to 64 tanning beds.  When a tanning session is used the time to tan can be automatically sent to a remote timer.

The version of the Tanning Bed Monitor that supports database timers is currently available for free on our web site or as an option on the SunEase 2000 CD-ROM.  This program keeps track of who's tanning, how much time is remaining and which beds need cleaning.  The Tanning Bed Monitor must be running and is started automatically when SunEase 2000 is started.

1)  Connect the cable from the database timer to the computer

The cable required is a custom cable available from the timer manufacturer or F.S.T. Company.

2)  Setup the timer

Make sure DIP switch 1 is On, 2 is On, 3 is Off, and 4 is On.
Turn the timer off then on again.

3)  Run the Find Database timer feature

This feature will determine the serial port the timer is connected to and verify the timer, cable and computer are working correctly.  It checks the status of station 1 on the timer for each serial port.  When the timer is found it will tell you the Serial Port and its status.

  • Pause the Tanning Bed Monitor
  • Close any open windows in SunEase 2000
  • Select Utilities then Remote Timer
  • Select Find database timer
  • Select the Find Timer button.
  • Note the Serial Port when the timer is located

and be sure to select database support
  • Close the Preferences window
  • Select Utilities then Purge Data Files then Timer Commands
  • Select the Start button
  • Select the Close button when it finishes

6)  Setup each tanning bed to use the timer
  • Pause the Tanning Bed Monitor
  • Close any open windows in SunEase 2000
  • Select File then Tanning Beds
  • Highlight the first bed in the list
  • Select View then Form

    • For Connected to an FST 1000?, remove any check marks.
    • Select the Program Timer button.  This feature will program the timer to match the computer settings.
  • Move to the next tanning bed and repeat these steps.
