1)
Connect the null modem cable from the FST Timer to the
computer
The
cable required to connect a FST Timer to your computer
is a standard Null Modem serial cable.
It may also be called a Laplink Cable or File Transfer
Cable at some stores.
You
will need a female DB9 to female DB9 or a female
DB9 to female DB25 cable. It is better not
to use any adapters. The computer's 9 pin
serial port is typically Serial Port 1 or COM1.
The computer's 25 pin serial port is typically Serial
Port 2 or COM2.
The
correct cable is available directly from your distributor,
F.S.T. Company or most computer stores.

2)
Run the Find FST Timer feature
This
feature will determine the serial port the timer
is connected to and verify the FST Timer, null modem
cable and computer are working correctly.
It checks the status of various stations on the
timer for each serial port. When the Timer
is found it will tell you the Serial Port, Station
number found and its status.
